Bill Gordon is Midland’s current Mayor and is running for Mayor in the 2026 municipal election. His stated 2026–2030 priorities include municipal spending, housing, public safety, Midland Bay Landing, shared municipal services, economic development, resident engagement, parks and waterfront spaces, infrastructure, and climate-resiliency and energy-efficiency measures.
CURRENT OFFICE & PUBLIC SERVICE
Bill Gordon is Midland’s current Mayor and was elected Mayor in 2022. As Midland’s Mayor, he also serves on County of Simcoe Council. Gordon is Vice Chair of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment Board and represents Midland on the Huronia Airport Commission.

Gordon says he currently works as an information-technology director in the life-sciences/pharmaceutical sector.

Gordon’s platform includes controlling municipal spending and limiting pressure on property taxes; encouraging affordable and attainable housing; advocating for more visible policing and additional municipal safety measures; renewed public consultation on Midland Bay Landing; exploring shared municipal services; business-friendly policies and downtown support; greater resident involvement in municipal decisions; protecting and improving parks, waterfront and outdoor spaces; repairing and replacing aging municipal infrastructure; and practical climate-resiliency and energy-efficiency measures.
